Honorable Representative,
Recently, two bills affecting women’s health and health services were assigned to the Agriculture Committee of the Illinois House of Representatives. As a matter of respect to all women in Illinois, a women’s health issue has no place in the Agriculture Committee.
We are calling on the Speaker to never submit a women's issue into any committee that is not directly related to its issue.
We are asking you to show leadership in the important matter of committee assignments of bills in the Illinois House of Representatives.
When Sleeping Women Wake Mountains Move is calling on the leaders of the Illinois State Legislature that matters affecting women’s health be assigned to more appropriate committees with the expertise to understand and appreciate women’s health issues.
When Sleeping Women Wake Mountains Move is a group in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago recently formed to focus on women's issues in Illinois and across the nation. The group will highlight women's rights by raising awareness, watching lawmakers and their votes and through education.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to hearing your response

When Sleeping Women Wake. Mountains Move Action
Palatine, IL – April 21, 2012 – Today When Sleeping Women Wake Mountains Move held their first action against Congressman Peter Roskam on his voting record and stance against women. When Sleeping Women Wake Mountain Move called on Congressman Roskam to take the message back to Washington that Women are watching and we will not go back. Democratic candidate Leslie Coolidge came to hear the groups concerns and share her views on the subject.
Women represent 51% of the population and vote in greater numbers than men and Congressman Roskam needs to know that women in Illinois will remember in November.
